A Charity Event in the UK

 

This is what its all about. When you have a pig race for a charity drive, everybody is a winner!

 

Just to put things in perspective, here is a Chinese Pot-bellied pig race.

 

Apparently, these pigs are indinous to Vietnam and Thailand (haven't found the Chinese connection yet). Adult pigs are about the size of a medium or large breed dog and weigh in at 20 - 300lbs (8 - 136 kg). Wikepedia says; "The recent upsurge in the popularity of pot-bellied pigs as "fad" pets has led to abandonment when owners discover that the pigs actually grow to larger sizes and require more care than they believed."

 

The Calafornia Pot-bellied Pig Association (CPPA) suggests adopting one from a shelter instead of buying one. 



The University of Southern Mississippi holds its annual "Paint Southern Miss Pink" race for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (kids aren't the only ones who know how to have fun!).
