Pig races are a popular way to raise money for charity drives or just to have fun. As a parent, I know how much my middle schoolers loved them. This blog will hopefully give you some creative ideas to make your pig race as engaging and memorable as possible. I hope others share their ideas and experiences as well.

Just to put things in perspective, here is a Chinese Pot-bellied pig race.
Apparently, these pigs are indinous to Vietnam and Thailand (haven't found the Chinese connection yet). Adult pigs are about the size of a medium or large breed dog and weigh in at 20 - 300lbs (8 - 136 kg). Wikepedia says; "The recent upsurge in the popularity of pot-bellied pigs as "fad" pets has led to abandonment when owners discover that the pigs actually
grow to larger sizes and require more care than they believed."
The Calafornia Pot-bellied Pig Association (CPPA) suggests adopting one from a shelter instead of buying one.
